Common questions about SEO and web design
Straightforward answers to the questions business owners ask most about SEO, web design, timelines, and working together.
SEO (search engine optimization) is the process of improving your website so it appears higher in search results when potential customers look for what you offer. Unlike paid ads, which stop the moment you stop spending, SEO builds lasting visibility that compounds over time.
For most businesses, Google is the first place customers go when they need a product or service. Ranking well means capturing that demand before your competitors do, without paying for every click.
Most businesses start seeing measurable movement within 3–6 months, with more significant results at 6–12 months. The timeline depends on your site’s current state, your competitive landscape, and how quickly recommendations are implemented.
Technical fixes and on-page improvements can produce faster results. Building topical authority and earning rankings for competitive terms takes longer, but the results are more durable once established.
Paid search (Google Ads) places your business at the top of results immediately, but you pay for every click, and visibility stops the moment your budget does.
SEO builds organic rankings that don’t require ongoing ad spend. It takes longer to see results, but the visibility is compounding, and the traffic you earn keeps coming even when you’re not actively investing.
Many businesses benefit from both, but SEO typically delivers a better long-term return on investment for businesses with a consistent offer and target audience.
AI is changing how people discover information, including businesses. Google’s AI Overviews now summarize answers directly in search results, and tools like ChatGPT are increasingly used to find service providers and vendors.
Businesses with well-structured content, strong topical authority, and properly configured technical signals (including llms.txt) are better positioned to appear in both traditional search results and AI-generated responses. This is now part of every SEO engagement I work on.
My core SEO services are structured as focused, one-time projects: an audit and roadmap, a technical fix plan, or a content strategy. This gives you a clear deliverable without locking you into an ongoing retainer.
For WordPress websites I build, I do offer ongoing maintenance and SEO management, keeping your site technically sound and your rankings growing over time. That’s discussed at the time of your project.
You work directly with me, Elisandro Martinez, throughout every engagement. I’m the person who takes your strategy call, runs your audit, builds your roadmap, and delivers your final report. There are no junior analysts, no account managers, and no handoffs.
As the business grows, my focus will remain on delivering the same high level of strategy, communication, and hands-on involvement clients expect from working with me directly.
We start with a free strategy call to align on your goals, your market, and what the right engagement looks like for your situation. From there, I’ll typically ask for access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 (if available). These help me go deeper in the analysis.
Everything else is handled on my end. You don’t need to prepare anything before the call.
Pricing depends on the scope of your project: the size of your site, the complexity of your market, and which service makes the most sense for your situation. I don’t publish fixed prices because engagements are scoped individually.
The best way to get a clear number is to book a free strategy call. After that conversation, I’ll give you a straightforward proposal with no surprises.
Every audit covers your site’s technical health (crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals), on-page signals (title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, content quality), and competitive positioning: how you compare to the businesses currently outranking you.
Every audit also includes a strategy roadmap: a prioritized action plan that tells you exactly what to fix first. The roadmap is always included, not an optional add-on.
Not always, but it helps. The Technical SEO Fix Plan and Content Plan both work best when informed by audit findings, because they’re built around your specific gaps and opportunities rather than assumptions.
If you don’t have a prior audit, I’ll conduct a targeted review before producing those deliverables. We’ll discuss the right approach on your strategy call.
My core SEO services deliver strategy, recommendations, and documentation. Implementation is typically handled by your team or developer. Every deliverable is written clearly enough that your team can act on it without back-and-forth.
For WordPress websites I build, implementation support is part of the ongoing service. For other engagements, optional support is available to help guide your team through execution.
Divi is a flexible, widely-supported WordPress page builder that’s easy for business owners to manage after launch. It produces clean, performant websites and integrates well with the SEO tools and configurations I implement on every build.
Crucially, you’re not locked into a proprietary ecosystem. Divi sites are portable, maintainable, and built on a platform your future developers will already know.
Every WordPress website I build includes managed hosting for the first year at no additional charge. This covers your server environment, SSL certificate, and basic uptime monitoring: everything your site needs to run reliably from day one.
After the first year, hosting continues at a straightforward annual rate. Details are included in your project proposal.
Most websites are completed within 4–8 weeks from project kickoff, depending on the package size and how quickly content and feedback are provided on your end. The Launch package (up to 5 pages) tends to move faster; the Build + Content package takes longer given the additional content production involved.
Your project proposal will include a realistic timeline based on your specific scope.
